Sierra Leone is making strides to end preventable maternal and newborn deaths

Sierra Leone focuses on quality of care to increase the chances of survival, health and wellbeing of pregnant women, new mothers and newborns. And it pays off: with WHO support, more than 500 health workers have received quality of care training and been placed in hospitals across the country to provide respectful, compassionate care for mothers and children.
