Quality without compromise: Ensuring safe products for every woman and every newborn

Thursday 30 October, 2025
2-3 pm CET

This webinar will take participants along the maternal and newborn health (MNH) product journey – from production to patient – illustrating how bottlenecks in manufacturing, regulation, and post-marketing surveillance can undermine quality and trust.

Through real-world examples and expert insights, the session will highlight practical actions to strengthen quality systems and ensure that every product reaching mothers and newborns is safe and effective, every time. The discussion will emphasise shared responsibility, collaboration, and continuous improvement as essential to protecting lives and advancing equity in MNH care globally.

Join us to be part of the conversation – and the solution – to ensure every mother and newborn has equitable access to quality products as part of quality care.

Speakers:

  • George Gwako, University of Nairobi
  • Lester Chinery, Concept Foundation
  • Charles Sandy, African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD)
  • Skhumbuzo Ngozwana, Federation of African Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Associations (FAPMA)
  • Edward Abwao, Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Kenya

This is the second webinar in a four-part series on Strengthening product ecosystems for maternal & newborn health, hosted by EWENE and co-organized by Unitaid and Concept Foundation.
