Effective care for mothers and their babies during humanitarian crises

The editorial in the latest World Health Organization’s Bulletin stresses that reducing maternal and newborn deaths is possible even in crisis settings, and calls for three principles to enable progress: strengthening leadership and prioritizing a continuum of care approach; integrating emergency response and recovery; and protecting and sustaining the health workforce.
