Accelerating progress on maternal, newborn, and child survival: Political leadership and evidence-based solutions

Tuesday 22 July at 08:00 – 10:00 am ET
Hybrid: In-person at 3 United Nations Plaza, New York, United States and online.

The Global Leaders Network for Women’s, Children’s and Adolescents’ Health is organizing a side-event during the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development, in support of Every Woman Every Newborn Everywhere and Child Survival Action (CSA).

The event aims to heighten awareness of the impact of global funding cuts on maternal, newborn, and child health, garner commitments to increased financing from governments and donors, and identify new champions for action on maternal, newborn, and child health.

Decision makers from high-burden governments, global health agencies with maternal and child survival mandates, and key donors will discuss how to accelerate progress towards maternal, newborn, and child survival targets and deliver on the commitments made at the World Health Assembly 77 and in EWENE and CSA Country Acceleration Plans.

Co-hosting this event are South Africa, Ethiopia (TBC), Nigeria (TBC), UNICEF, UNFPA, the World Health Organization, PMNCH, EWENE and CSA.
